Intial Costumes

Our intial idea for our costumes is that the lead lip syncer would wera casual but girly look which may include dark, dull clothered clothing. This was so that we would stick to the same theme in the othere music videos made by P!nk.

The male lead who is going to be a couple in the music video would be wearing jeans going for the casual day out look. Because this scene would be portraying the couple in ‘love’ as they were only in the earlystages of their relationship wear a guy makes an effort to dress.  

The female lead who is going to be a couple in the music video would be wearing jeans and a summery or flowery top with matching jewellery that will be pink. The reason behind the jewellery being pink is that this will continue to stick to P!nk’s other music videos.

Intial Mise En Scene

One of our locations that we are thinking of is the great park. Below is where we may film, the reason behind this location is that there are no houses in sight or any cars insight, as it would look like our ideal location for a couple to hang out. And emphasis on the perfect scene to show someone heartbroken in a secluded meadow.

Our genre is pop therefore we have looked for suitable locations where we would have the place to ourselves as well the actors who are performing to feel safe whilst filming. The reason why the great park would be good for our music video is that we want to film the scenes in which a person is heartbroken from a previous relationship and we believe the only way of showing this is where there is a lot of space enough to show the emptiness of the person who is heartbroken as they are no longer in a relationship.

As you can see from the moodboard we have included images that we got from the internet of a guitat, flashboards, a river, burning of paper, hearts, rose petals, park scenery, an ice rink and many more.



Intial Idea and adaptations of the music video

The idea of our music video orginally came from looking at another music vdeo by Miley Cyrus - 7 Things . The concept of this music video is where the lead singer is Miley Cyrus and she starts naming things that she hates about this one person and there are a few number of girls who also express their hate of others in this video. Below is the music video of Miley Cyrus - 7 Things.

As you can see from watching the above music video is that we wanted to use a similar concept for our music video where a few people were to express their pain of a break up.

Test Shots

These are shots that are used as an example of how we use the cameras so we are used to them when we get ready to film our music video.

Above are a few stills from our test shots and from the above test shots we can see what needs to be improved and why. We also got someone else who knows nothing about media or shots and asked them if by looking at our shots they believed they showed a clear enough image. From the feedback that we had received it was clear that the the shots were clear but still needed a better focusing point as well as sometimes it was not clear what the focus point of the image was.

Intial :- Potential Actors

The potential characters that we have are Peram, Jemma, Henley, Nikki, Daniel, Evalene, Luke, Toby. Below is a character profile for each of the above name and why they would be suitable for our music video and which role we could have they playing.

Luke

Above is one of the people we may cast as our male leading role Luke. The reason of why we believe he may fit the criteria of our male role is because the person we are looking for has to be tall and comfortable in being able to portray a happy couple look and we believe he may have it.

Toby

The above is another potential person we may be looking to cast as our main male role. The reason behind this choice is that Toby is charismatic and enthusiastic as a person and we are looking for a laid back male who is in love but can take a relationship serious.

The above is our last potential person for the male role to cast in our music video. The reason behind this choice is that Daniel has a girlfriend already and we are also looking into his girlfriend to be a potential lead female role. This is so that the couple will feel at ease as they are already going out and it will be easy for them to act as a romantic couple as they themselves are still in the early stages of the romance.

Above is a potential cast for the role of the female lead. The reason behind this choice is again is that Nikki already has a boyfriend who we are looking to cast as one of our male lead roles and we believe that Nikki band her boyfriend have the best chemistry to portray out happy couple for our music video.

We have chosen to use Henley from our group as one of the girls holding a flashboard. This is because she was able to be filmed on the days required. She is also a teenage girl who can represent the storyline well as our song is from a female's perspective.

We have also chosen to use Jemma from our group as another girl holding the flashboards. Again, this was because she was available to film when needed. She is also a young teenager who fits in with the required elements of our music video.

The reason behind our choice of Peram is that again we believe she can portray all the heartbreak ripping scenes as Peram lot of energy and has been through a heartbreak herself so she will be able to portray the emotion in our music video.

The reason behind our choice of using Evaline for our music video lip syncer is that Evaline as a person is very confident as a person and is very passionate about the song she may lip sync too. She is also very good at acting and is able to show the emotion needed for this particular song.

Lyrics Analysis - Our Chosen Song

The song that our group will be making a music video to is 'Heartbreaker' by Pink. The lyrics to this video are as follows:

The main message we got from this song was that it is about relationships and heartache. The female role in the song is clearly having doubt about a romantic relationship she's currently in. The lyrics to the song give a sense of meaning and passion. For example the lyric "There's a ring around my finger, But will you change your mind?" implies she is engaged to someone, but there's a possibility that person may end the relationship in some way.

We think that this song and the lyrics fits in well with Pink's 'Pop Rock' genre in general. A lot of Pink's lyrics to many of her songs consist of the idea of love, heartbreak and emotion.

There are a lot of rhetorical questions in the lyrics to this song. This gets the audience thinking and connecting with the song. An example of one of these questions is "Are you my greatest love or disappointment in my life?" The repetitiveness of the lyric "Are you a heartbreaker?" defines that this is the main message and meaning of the song.
