Music Video Shot List

Below are our music video shot lists. Together we made a rough outline of how we imagined and wanted our music video to be like.

Intial Ideas: - Make up

Our ideas for the make up is having subtle make up on the face and heavy make up on the eyes.

The above image is what we aim our actors to look like and having the make up done this way gives emphasis on the characters as we are trying to keep make up minimal an exception for the eyes. As, this would fit in with the ideas of P!nk in her previous music videos.

Below are a few stills from P!nk's previous music videos which shows the different type of make up. We can see clearly the emphasis it has on the audience as it shows a sence of emotion.

Intial Ideas : - Colour Pink

In our music video we have 21 individual shots and in every apart from the first and second shots we will have the colour pink so it stays as a convention of other P!nk's music video's.

The logic behind this is that in every one of P!nk's music video's, the colour pink is always there and stands out to the audience.

Below is a few images from P!ink's music video's where the colour pink is portrayed.

Pink is a mixture of red and white. Commonly used for Valentine's Day and Easter, pink is sometimes referred to as "the color of love." This shows the reasoning behind P!nk’s choice of colour as a majority of her music videos portrays some sort of element of ‘love’

Intial :- Enviroment Conditions

Initially as a group we wanted to film when the weather was nice by that we mean that the sun would be out. As we were supposed start filming 03/10/11. We checked the weather forecast for that week and when we saw that it would be cloudy and sunny we thought that was great as we would be able to get a lot of our shots that we needed for our music video.

We initially decided to then film when the weather was allot better but this had changed because we eventually had to re - film as we discovered that part of the music video did not look professional enough. For us to initially do this we had to choose a closer date where we could quickly film what was necessary and where there was no one to disturb us.

The next time that we had filmed the day was cold and there was no sun so we all had to ensure that we brought coats and scarfs so that we did not catch a cold. The day after we filmed it was sunny and for us that was a huge disappointment as we had already finished filming. That was due to our lack of knowledge on the weather and on the day we did the best we could.

Intial :- Special Effects

The special effects that we wanted to use were the fade in fade out so our transactions in the music video ended up being smooth and eye catching to catch the audiences reaction. We also wanted special effects for the ending of our music video; the idea initially was for the rose petals to blend in with the guitar when the music video would come to an end.

Above were the two main special effects that we may tend to use. Our reasoning behind this is that because of the song being about heartbreaking we wanted to show quick but memorable flashbacks that would keep the audience enticed for watching more and wanting more.

We believe that in order to make the above ideas work we need to actually get the right shots and camera angles of the small things because that is what the special effects will be used upon. This then gives the music video a complete satisfying ending which a satisfies the audience.

Intial Props

The main prop we believe we would need for our music video would be the camera and the tripod without either of these items we would not be able to film any of our music video.

There are many small props that we may need whilst filming the music video and those would be a lighter and a photo to burn. This is reason we would need a lighter is that we are intially deciding on whether we would have a scene in the music video were the main actor will set fire to one picture which was a photo of them as a couple now that she has had her heartbroken. This would mean for us that the burning would also have a match on action to the lyrics where the visuals match the lyrics.

We would also need red rose petals for our intial idea of the ending of our music video. This would be a very difficult prop to find as the roses would have to be plastic as apposed to having real red roses as they would only fly away in the weather. Our reason behind in having plastic roses is that they are cheap to buy but also if we loose some we can always buy new ones as they are cheap to buy. Bu twe may have some difficulty in purchasing thewm as the season for roses has passed so many shops may not have them in stock.

By not having the roses for our music video we feel as if the music video would not have the same ending effect on the audience whilst watching.

Intial :- Flashbacks

Initially our thoughts of flashbacks is that they show the happy or bad times of someones memory. Our song that we are using for our music video is sung by the artist P!nk we believed that this was the perfect opportunity to show how heartbroken someone could get at just remembering the good times of a relationship and this should be shown by flashbacks. If we were going with the thought of flashback is we felt that the flashbacks should be a reoccurring element in our music video.

As a group we looked at the song F**kin Perfect by P!nk and throughout the music video there were flashbacks going from the childhood to adulthood. This is what inspired us to think one step ahead and also include flashbacks in our music video where the flashbacks would be in balck and white. This would then give a sence of looking back into the main actors past and understand how they got to the current break up stage so the audience could get a fell of the story and understand what was happening in the music video.
