Chosen Locations

For our music video to Heartbreaker by Pink, we decided that many of our shots would be outside. We decided to use outdoor shots as it would be spacious and we could get shots of just the main people needed, without other people in the background. We also liked the idea of scenery in the background such as grass and trees. The natural sunlight was also another factor we decided would look effective.

The Great Park

The first location we looked at and decided to film parts of our music video was the Windsor Great Park. We thought that this would be a good location as its very spacious with the potential to have natural, scenic backgrounds. Here we filmed the girls holding and tearing the flash boards. We used a large tree as the main background for these shots, and as we zoomed out, you can see more scenery such as the grass, leaves and other trees. We liked the idea of the girls standing alone in a spacious area to show that they are perhaps 'alone'. We also found that filming in a quiet area was easier as we didn't have many distractions and potential problems such as traffic and people.

Another location we used for filming was at the back of our school. Here we filmed the main female lip syncing. This area was also scenic and natural as it featured trees, willow trees the autumn leaves and grass. The day we filmed on was sunny yet windy which gave a successful effect as the sunlight brightened up the shots, whereas the wind was blowing the girls hair giving a good effect. Again, this location was quiet and vast allowing us to get some more natural shots. This fitted in with the general idea of the music video and shots we had previously filmed at the Great Park.

We also filmed the burning of the photos and the falling rose petals outside at our school. We decided to film the burning photos against a fairly plain background as this allowed us to put it into our music video where ever we felt necessary. By doing it against a plain background, this also gave us the freedom to do more effects and editing with it such as fading into another image.

We filmed the rose petals in two locations so this will allow us to use which ever shot we think is best, or both. We firstly filmed the rose petals falling against a brick wall. We thought a plain background would look effective and give us more options when editing. We also filmed the rose petals falling with a tree and natural surroundings as a background. We thought this would tie in with the rest of our music video and other chose locations.
